If you
have a Twitter account and thinks it’s just another pointless Web 2.0
service that does nothing,
think again. Large Businesses
such as Cisco
Systems, Jet Blue, Sun Microsystems and Whole Foods Market use Twitter
to
provide product or service information. So if you love technology and
want to
stay sharp with industry news, trends etc. then I suggest you follow
these

The Vision of an
industry
giant
As
Chairman & CEO of Microsoft, Bill Gates is quoted as saying "Our
vision for Microsoft is a personal computer on every desk in every
home. We have this constant direction and can see how everything fits.
That broad, initial vision was written down when the company was
started fifteen years ago and it has not changed. Many things have
grown out of that, including the idea of having information at your
fingertips. According to our vision, you should be able to bring up on
a computer screen anything you are interested in. These are the visions
we are striving to achieve.
The
Comeback
Kid
Steve Jobs came back to Apple Computer unceremoniously, when the
company was on it downward spiral in the late 90's. Industry
experts had already declared the company "dead" in 1998. With a vision
clearly etched in his mind, the company soon experienced spectacular
growth. His vision was and still is now: "Change the look of the
PC and notebook and all computers." His vision led to gleaming and
colorful iMacs & iBooks and streamlined and sexy iPods &
iPhones that lifted Apple up to profitability. "The rest of the
industry is trying to copy our every move again, just like in the 1980s
we've got Microsoft copying us again too. and I don't mind," Steve
Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer.
Google
to do its thing to
telephony
Google is entertaining the telephone business with its upcoming Google
Voice service. The service, still in beta testing, intergrates Web
functionality into the telephone experience, including a voice mail
function that will be accessible and searchable via phone or Internet
browser. Also the service will allow users to set a ring schedule -
forwarding calls like to a work number from 9-5 and a screening
function allowing users to screen and enter into live voice mails.
